En avril, les fleurs du figuier sont cachées à l'intérieur de la jeune figue. Elles attendent la minuscule guêpe qui viendra les polliniser pour qu'elles deviennent le fruit que l'on mange. En France, Louis XIV était un grand amateur de figue. Son jardinier planta donc plus de 700 figuiers dans des bacs afin de les rentrer en hiver dans l'orangerie du château de Versailles.

In April, the flowers of the fig are hidden inside the young fig. They are waiting the tiny wasp that will pollinate them so they become the fruit that we eat. In France, Louis XIV was a great lover of fig. So his gardener planted over 700 fig trees in pots in order to return to winter in the orangery of the castle of Versailles.
