La "Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux" préconise un nourrissage des oiseaux seulement en période hivernal. On peut le commencer aux premières gelées et l’étendre jusqu’au mois de mars lorsque l’hiver se prolonge. Il n'est pas conseillé de nourrir les oiseaux au printemps et en été car beaucoup d'entre eux deviennent insectivores à cette saison et cela peut créer une relation de dépendance vis-à-vis des jeunes oiseaux de l'année qui doivent apprendre à se nourrir par eux-mêmes.
When to feed the birds?
The "League for the Protection of Birds" recommends feeding birds only in winter. It can be started at the first frosts and extended until March when the winter is prolonged. It is not advisable to feed the birds in spring and summer as many of them become insectivorous this season and this can create a relationship of dependence on young birds of the year who must learn to to feed themselves.
